Process Manufacturing
For chemical-based industries to respond to global challenges, we need to improve productivity and maintain the competitiveness of our manufacturing processes.

It is crucial for the UK to adopt newer, more intensive process technologies that are scalable, flexible and tolerant to alternative feedstocks. Enhancing capabilities will also need the adoption of advanced digital solutions that utilise the right data to increase productivity.
KTN can support organisations in connecting across sectors and capabilities to meet these new business needs. We will also encourage the development and adoption of processes for synthesis and catalysis that offer commercial advantages, and help increase adoption of techno-economic, whole-system approaches to optimised solutions.
The Process Manufacturing Landscape Map has been designed to provide a visual dynamic representation of the UK sector Process Manufacturing landscape and allow users to easily and quickly source data within an otherwise complex and confusing eco-system.

#IdeasMeanBusiness: The design to manufacture journey
Experience and data tells us that developing a physical product (one that requires manufacturing) can be tougher than developing a software or service product: diverse skills and experience are required, there is a dependency upon third party relationships and significant investment is needed up front. This session will give you a heads-up on how to approach navigating the design to manufacture journey and will equip you with useful hints and tips to maximise your chances of success.
