The evidence is clear: the societal narrative around ageing is overwhelmingly negative and older people are subjected to a litany of damaging stereotypes.

At Ageing Better we’re looking at the impact of ageism. Particularly how it manifests, how the public and different parts of society (including government, the media and charities) tend to speak about ageing and the demographic age shift.

Our ambition is to help society shift to a more realistic and constructive narrative and to encourage greater representation of the diverse people and experiences that exist in later life.

This webinar covered the basics on ageism and where and how it exists in society. The discussion also covered misperceptions about ageing and how to avoid common pitfalls when talking about ageing and growing older.
