Aimed at students or early career researchers broadly researching the microbiome, this event will feature 5 speakers from plant, human and animal microbiome areas that are currently doing Masters/PhDs/postdocs in this area. They will talk about their research, their experiences, problems and troubleshooting. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions about microbiome research in general, or more specifically, about each of the presenters’ individual research areas.

Webinar recording is now available

Attendees will benefit from hearing about other researchers in this area; learn about different ways in which the microbiome is being researched and its impacts; the problems other students have, or are, experiencing that could be relatable and possibly even provide some new insights on how to overcome these problems. Ultimately our aim is to form a network of students and early career researchers who as future leaders and experts, support each other and drive innovation in this field.

We will also be offering attendees an additional opportunity for facilitated networking on 30th October. Details will be confirmed during the webinar.

The aims of KTN’s Microbiome Innovation Network (formerly known as Special Interest Group) are to develop a proactive, self-sustaining microbiome community in the UK; to raise the visibility of the UK’s world leading microbiome science and enable translation of this science to the benefit of the academic institutions, start-ups, SMEs, larger established companies that operate here and to society at large. The scope of this Innovation Network covers all microbiomes, especially those connected to human health & wellbeing, animal health & nutrition and agri-food.
