This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an international collaboration with the National Research Council of Canada.

Innovate UK and the National Research Council of Canada are launching a competition to collaborate on projects that support process improvements in biomanufacturing for cost effective cell and gene-based therapies through one of two areas:

  • Process improvement for adeno-associated virus (AAV) based gene therapy.
  • Deploy process analytical technologies to perfusion-enabled lentiviral vector manufacturing.

A total of up to £290,000 is allocated to fund 3 innovation projects in this competition. Your project’s total eligible costs must not exceed £128,000 over a period of up to 2 years, of which up to 75% will be funded by this initiative. Each project can be reimbursed up to £95,000.

This competition will be open to UK researchers (SMEs, Catapults, Research and Technology Organisations, Academia). It is suggested that technical leads, scientific officers, or similar attend the webinar.

This briefing webinar will cover the following topics

  • Welcome – Rachel Evans, Portfolio Manager | Innovate UK
  • Competition Scope – Andreea Iftimia-Mander, Innovation Lead | Innovate UK & Kelley Parato, Programme Director | NRC for Canada
  • Competition Process – Rachael Evans, Portfolio Manager | Innovate UK
