2019 Nuclear South West Showcase and Annual Conference
Taking place on 2-3 October near Bridgwater, this year’s theme is ‘Bringing Innovation to Nuclear’.
Nuclear South West’s annual conference is a chance to find out more about existing opportunities in the UK nuclear sector, showcase your capabilities to potential customers and learn about the future direction of nuclear in the UK.
There continue to be huge opportunities for UK and international companies that want to be part of the UK nuclear supply chain. ¬†Many of these¬†are located in the South West of England. ¬†This includes the UK‚Äôs first new build in a generation, Hinkley Point C, which is entering the MEH phase; four sites being decommissioned; submarine decommissioning; and the development of new technologies for small modular reactors.
With a theme of ‚ÄòBringing Innovation to Nuclear‚Äô, this two-day showcase and conference highlights current and future opportunities in new build, decommissioning, defence and new technologies, including SMRs.
Other highlights include the opportunity to network with senior industry representatives and engage in 1-2-1 meetings with companies across the different supply chains.
Wednesday 2 October ‚Äì NSW showcase
The first day will give 100 people the chance to visit¬†the UK‚Äôs only new build site at Hinkley Point C. Please book early to avoid disappointment. There will also be technology demonstrations including VR, AR, control room and robotics.
A pre-conference dinner will allow attendees to network and engage with¬†some of the conference speakers.
Thursday 3 October – ‘Bringing Innovation to Nuclear’ conference
The conference agenda features inspiring industry speakers and plenty of opportunities to network. ¬†Speakers announced so far include¬†Tom Greatrex, CEO, Nuclear Industry Association;¬†Alan Cumming, Nuclear Operations Director, Nuclear Decommissioning Authority;¬†Andy Storer, CEO, NAMRC and Nuclear Sector Deal;¬†Beccy Pleasant, Head of Nuclear Skills Strategy Group;¬†Richard Deakin, Head of Advanced Nuclear Technologies,¬†Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy;¬†Professor Tom Scott, Director, South West Nuclear Hub; and Nick Golding, Head of HPC Supply Chain Programme. ¬†More will be added to the agenda in the coming weeks.
