Digital Minister Matt Warman to present keynote address at CyberASAP Demo Day highlighting the importance of cyber security sector
13 teams will present their prototypes of products and services in the CyberASAP final, pitching to investors and industry experts
The Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) is leading the Government‚Äôs work to develop the world‚Äôs best digital economy and Digital Minister Matt Warman has a key role in helping deliver on that. He will be addressing an invited audience at this week‚Äôs Cybersecurity Academic Startup Accelerator Programme (CyberASAP) Demo Day where the fruits of this year-long programme – which helps academics to commercialise their cybersecurity ideas – will be presented.
Central to the government‚Äôs vision for the digital economy is a need to ensure that the UK is the most secure place in the world to live and do business online. Its National Cyber Security Strategy (NCSS) outlined three broad strands of activity: to defend the UK‚Äôs cyberspace, deter its adversaries and develop its capabilities.
A crucial part of this is promoting the UK‚Äôs cyber security sector, ensuring government, industry and academia work together to support a thriving ecosystem of successful, innovative companies. Commenting on the programme ahead of his keynote address at the CyberASAP Demo Day this week, Digital Minister Matt Warman said:

The Demo Day comprises a series of pitches from the final 13 teams in this year‚Äôs CyberASAP programme, whittled down from 26 who started the programme in April 2019. Since then, teams have participated in a year-long programme of bootcamps, workshops and clinics designed to help them through all the crucial stages of taking an idea from the lab to the market.
These finalists will be in action on the Demo Day, each giving a five minute pitch and then showcasing their products during an informal networking session, following the pitches.
