First ISCF Challenge Director posts now open for applications

Applications are invited for the posts of Challenge Directors in Batteries, Medicines Manufacturing, and Robotics.

The Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund (ISCF) will identify R&D-focused challenges across emerging and incumbent sectors that, if met, could result in large economic returns for the UK. Six key challenges were announced in April.

Initially delivered by Innovate UK and the Research Councils, the ISCF will be managed by UK Research and Innovation once it is established. Programmes delivered by the fund will be industry-led and powered by multi-disciplinary research and business-academic collaboration.

The first Challenge Director posts are now open for applications:

  • Challenge Director (Batteries) – 4 Year FTC (Swindon or London)
  • Challenge Director (Batteries) – 6 Month FTC (Swindon or London)
  • Challenge Director (Medicines Manufacturing) – 4 Year FTC (Swindon or London)
  • Challenge Director (Medicines Manufacturing) – 6 Month FTC (Swindon or London)
  • Challenge Director (Robotics) – 4 Year FTC (Swindon or London)
  • Challenge Director (Robotics) – 6 Month FTC (Swindon or London)

Challenge Directors, who will sit within UKRI, will be supported by challenge specific advisory panels who will bring together the key stakeholders across industry and academia to help shape the challenge and ensure it delivers real impact.
