Here's why you should attend the BSAS conference this year

The British Society of Animal Science (BSAS) conference is coming up at the end of March, in Nottingham.

The British Society of Animal Science (BSAS) conference is a three-day event not to miss for anyone working with animals and livestock.

BSAS Annual Conference
East Midlands Conference Centre, Nottingham
30 March – 1st April 2020

Here are three reasons why we think you should definitely attend!

1- Learn from UK and international speakers on relevant topics

It’s a great way to hear from a wide range of UK and international speakers on topical areas such as how to create a holistic approach to define the role of animal science in solving the world’s food crisis, whilst also addressing the challenges of food security, nutrition and production.

2- Meet people in your sector

The conference will be full of people interested or involved in animal science (through industry or academia), people who work with animals and livestock and who are involved in the care, sustainability and utility of animals. During three days, you’ll have the opportunity to speak with them about what you’re passionate about, share your problems, listen to theirs, get ideas for solutions and inspiration. The KTN agri-food team has made useful connections at the conference in previous years.

3 – Learn about advanced scientific research taking place

It’s an opportunity to find out about the innovation that’s happening in the sector, with sessions such as Equine Reproduction and Breeding Management, Gut Microbiome,  as well as Minerals in Human and Animal Diets.

You can see a draft programme here.

The KTN agri-food team will be there. Lucy Mather‚Äã, our Knowledge Transfer Manager specialised in Livestock and Aquaculture will be co-chairing a session on Tuesday 31st March called ‘Achieving Environmentally Benign Livestock systems’. KTN is also sponsoring this session‚Äôs speaker, Dr Sara Place who is a Technical Consultant in Sustainability at Elanco.
