Horizon 2020 Robotics Information and Consortia Building Event: Presentations now available

Posted on: 15/11/2019

On the 12th of November, KTN and Innovate UK hosted a workshop on forthcoming Horizon 2020 Robotics related Calls.

“Robotics enables a significant part of the economic impact of AI by delivering physical intelligence. Logistics, Healthcare, Agri-Food, Inspection and Maintenance, Mobility, Construction, Decommissioning; all require physical intelligence, for example in object manipulation. Physical intelligence is derived from combinations of underlying functional capabilities and developing these capabilities beyond the state of the art depends on fundamental R&D&I which crosses between technical domains, for example into materials research or human interaction. It is therefore important to enhance the capability of robots by exploring and developing the opportunities offered by novel technical developments related to physical intelligence.” Extract from H2020 ICT Work Programme.

The workshop gave an overview of the forthcoming Horizon 2020 Robotics related Calls representing a budget of around €709 million. Horizon 2020 is the European Union’s Research and Innovation Programme.

KTN hosted this event on behalf of Innovate UK and was Chaired by Phil Williams, Head of Complex Systems, KTN, and delivered by Viola Hay, Knowledge Transfer Manager РEuropean Programmes, KTN, Stafford Lloyd, National Contact Point for ICT and Future Emerging Technologies, Innovate UK, Geoff Pegman, R U Robots Ltd, David Bisset, Itechnic Ltd, Giulia Simonelli, Enterprise Europe Network.

A big thank you to the Chair, Speakers and Organisers!
