Posted on: 02/04/2020

With an extended deadline, you now have more time to strengthen your application for the Seafood Innovation Fund.

If you’ve got a project that will disrupt the seafood sector, this fund is for you. You could get up to £50K for feasibility studies or up to £250k for full research and development (R&D) projects.

There will be an online briefing event at 11am on Tuesday 5th May – click here to register.

The deadline to apply has been extended to 26 June 2020 at 12 noon. You can apply on your own as an individual or an organisation, but collaborative projects are encouraged, especially projects including both seafood sector experts and technology businesses are encouraged.

If you feel that your application would be stronger with a partnership approach, here’s how KTN can help you form new collaborations.

We’ll help identify knowledge gaps in your project

Our agri-food team has a wealth of experience working with both Agriculture and Aquaculture projects as well as funding calls. Our knowledge of businesses working in the landscape means that we can help ensure your project will drive innovation in the industry. The team will work with you to understand your project and business and discuss how it could be taken to the next level to fill industry needs.

We’ll use our cross-sector expertise to identify partners from other areas.

We work closely with other specialist teams at KTN and this is what gives us such a wide cross-sector expertise. Once we’ve identified the kind of partner that could complement your project, we’ll talk with colleagues from other teams to find the right partners to connect you with.

We’ll tap into our network to find partners

Within KTN we have close links to universities, research organisations and businesses across the country spanning all industries. We can tap into this network to help find the right partner for your project.

We’ll share our LinkedIn group

In an attempt to help link even more people, the KTN agri-food team have set up a LinkedIn agri-food group to find partners. The group has nearly 600  members. Our team posts regular updates on the group too so it’s a great way to keep up to date with sector news and funding. Once you’ve been accepted onto the group, you can post a request for partners straight away.

Click here to visit the group and join.
