Our weekly round-up of news from i3P (Infrastructure Industry Innovation Partnership) members, sharing just some of the great innovations and progress happening in the infrastructure industry.

Morgan Sindall Construction has won a £5 million contract to deliver a new specialist SME innovation hub for Exeter Science Park. Morgan Sindall Construction was selected for the project due to its proven experience and logistical capability in the safe and efficient delivery of high-quality laboratory space within the region. A Balfour Beatty project has reached a key milestone in their ongoing Zero Harm Goal, achieving 1,000,000 hours worked without a Loss Time Incident (LTI) on the project. Great work!

 

Innovate UK shared news of the Transforming Construction challenge (TCC), outlining their vision for social infrastructure in the near future. A brilliant example of what can be achieved through industry collaboration! Read more.

Crossrail’s Paddington station is now “sufficiently finished” and considered to be 12 weeks away from handover to TfL. Construction has been carried out by a joint venture between Costain Group and Skanska – showcasing what can be achieved through collaboration between these three i3P members. Read more here.
