Industrial Biotechnology for a sustainable future

Abstract submission is now open for the Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Centre (IBioIC) 5th Annual Conference.

The Industrial Biotechnology Innovation Centre (IBioIC) is one of eight Innovation Centres across a range of key sectors funded by the Scottish Funding Council with support from Scottish Enterprise and Highlands and Islands Enterprise.

IBioIC’s role, as a specialist in the Industrial Biotechnology (IB) sector, is to stimulate the growth of the IB sector in Scotland to £900 million by 2025. IBioIC connects industry, academia and government and facilitates collaborations, provides scale-up capabilities, creates networks and develops skills.

IBioIC’s Annual Conference is one of the highlights of the IB calendar, attracting hundreds of bio-based professionals, academics and students from across the UK and Europe. Their 5th Annual Conference is taking place on 30th-31st January 2019 in Glasgow. You can view highlights from the 2018 conference here.

Abstract submission is now open, with deadlines of 10th September 2018 for speakers (find out more below), and 5th November 2018 for posters.

IBioIC 5th Annual Conference – Call for Abstracts

Speaker abstracts are being accepted for the conference’s parallel tracks until midnight on Monday 10th September, and will fall into the following themes:

  • Technical: Supply Chain
  • Technical: Technical Network Showcase
  • Commercial: Company Showcase (Members only)
  • Commercial: Pitchfest

Abstracts must be submitted through IBioIC’s website and must meet the requirements for length and eligibility outlined in the guidelines for abstract submission on the website. Further information on the review process and timelines are also available on the website.
