Innovate UK, SBRI Healthcare and NIHR i4i Health Investment Showcases

Posted on: 14/02/2020

Apply for Health Investment Showcases in London and Manchester in April.

The Knowledge Transfer Network in collaboration with Innovate UK, the National Institute for Health and Research (NIHR) Invention for Innovation (i4i) and the NHS England and NHS Improvement Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) Healthcare programmes are delighted to host two Health Investment Showcases events in 2020.

The events will be held in Alderley Park (Macclesfield) on the 28th April, and in London on the 30th April.

They have been designed for MedTech, Diagnostic and Digital Health companies based in the UK, raising at seed or series A investment between £100k Р£2m. If you have received either Innovate UK, SBRI or NIHR i4i funding, and are or will be looking to seek investment in the next few months you are welcome to apply. There are limited spaces available, so only a cohort of the companies that apply will have the chance to present at the event.

For the chance to be shortlisted, please complete this application form online by the 3rd March at 5pm.

Following that date, a number of companies will be selected to attend a mandatory investment readiness programme (details attached), that will be run over 2 sessions, where companies will learn what is expected when raising investment and how to put forward a strong proposition. There will also be the opportunity to network with other entrepreneurs and investors to spark new opportunities.

Following the training, a Panel will shortlist the companies that will attend the investment showcases. At the end of the programme, companies will be able to better prepare an investor pitch and be more confident in the delivery of their investment opportunity and ‘story’.

Programme details:

Session 1: Investment Readiness

The first session will provide a broad grounding about the investment ecosystem; this includes what do investors look for, a toolkit for developing and delivering the investment deck and how to find investors.

Session 2: Pitch Critique

In the second session, a pitch critique day is held where the companies give their investment pitch to the group and are provided feedback.

Session 3: Selection Panel

Companies are invited to pitch their investment opportunity to a panel comprised of stakeholders and friendly investors. The panel will select those companies it wishes to put forward to the Showcase event.

Session 4: Health Investor Showcase

Selected companies will present at a Showcase event to promote the companies to an audience of investors and industry stakeholders.
