ISCF Transforming Foundation Industries: Fast Start Projects - Briefing Events

Posted on: 30/10/2019

Registration now open for briefing events on the Transforming Foundation Industries ISCF Competition.

The UK Foundation Industries (covering metals, ceramics, paper, glass, chemicals and cement), with a combined turnover estimated at £45bn, face many common challenges, and the opportunity to address these challenges through cross-sector collaboration is compelling.

Innovate UK, as part of UK Research and Innovation, will fund up to £5m in R&D and Innovation projects for the foundation industries. These will be cross-sector, collaborative, fast start, short duration, industrial research and development (R&D) projects. The aim of this competition is to bring businesses from different foundation industries together to work on common resource and energy efficiency opportunities. This funding competition is part of the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund (ISCF) Clean Growth Challenge.

Innovate UK will fund cross-sector and collaborative research and development projects aimed at improving the productivity and competitiveness of the sectors’ companies and supply chains, and encourage companies to stay in the UK.  The competition is open for applications and closes on 5 February 2020 at midday.

Foundation industries include:

  • cement
  • paper
  • glass
