KTN and UK Research and Innovation at UK Space

UK Space is at Newport from 24-26 September and UKRI and KTN are well represented. Read on for some highlights…

UK Space is a biennial conference that is billed as the most important and influential event for space in the UK. UK Research and Innovation has a strong presence at the event with a stand (C5) featuring at least one Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund (ISCF) theme each day.

KTN is supporting its colleagues at UK Research and Innovation and Innovate UK on the stand and KTN sector experts will be delivering workshops and talks as well as being on the UK Research and Innovation stand to answer queries about innovation and support available.

On day 1 at 08:30, KTN’s Knowledge Transfer Manager, Space,¬†Andy Bennett, one of KTN’s Complex Systems Team members, will take to the floor to deliver his talk, ‘Space 101. New to space? Start here and make the most of your UKSC 2019’.

Later that day at 14:50,¬†KTN’s Knowledge Transfer Manager, Connected and Autonomous Vehicles,¬†George Filip, one of KTN’s Transport Team members, will be part of a panel session on the¬†’Future commercialisation of space based Position, Navigation and Timing (PNT) systems’.

And finally at 16:10 on day 1, ¬†Andy Bennett will be part of the ‘Geospatial challenge’ workshop.

 

The UK Research and Innovation stand at C5 will each day feature an ISCF theme and representatives from Innovate UK’s challenge teams will be on hand to answer questions. ¬†The themes are:

  • Day 1 -¬†Manufacturing Made Smarter
  • Day 2 – Transforming Food Production and Robotics for a Safer World
  • Day 3 – Quantum

 

UK Space brings together UK and international space community from across government, industry and academia to exchange ideas, share plans, develop relationships and seek inspiration to thrive in the new space age.
