KTN’s innovation eXchange site has new challenges for innovative organisations; latest challenges are in nuclear construction and pipework detection.

KTN-innovation eXchange (KTN-iX) is an online platform that promotes innovation transfer, matching real industry challenges from large companies (Tier 1 and 2) to organisations, often from other sectors, who have innovative technology and can facilitate faster development of novel solutions to those challenges.

New challenges have been posted on the site, sitting alongside a range of existing challenges.  Challenge holders can remain anonymous but are often Tier 1 and 2 which makes this site an ideal route for innovative companies to find a way into larger organisations.  The new challenges are:

These two challenges are in addition to the following that are already on KTN-iX:

Challenges on the platform are in one of three sectors – Offshore Wind, Energy Systems and Nuclear.  The solution to challenges could come from sectors as diverse as defence and security, oil and gas, water or healthcare, ceramics technology or sensors – the transfer of skills and knowledge from other sectors is a key driver for the platform.

Solutions providers can register online and apply to solve challenges for free. ¬†Benefits alongside an ‘in’ to a large company could include a commercial partnership, support from KTN and Catapults and support to develop a prototype or pilot study.
