KTN publishes its Annual Report for 2017-18
KTN publishes its Annual Report for 2017/18 today. The report covers a wide range of our work and activity to the end of March 2018, and it is very pleasing to be able to deliver such a positive report.
There are a great many highlights in the report, and in addition to our own activity, we also had our first full independent evaluation of our work looking at the period 2014-2017. The review was extremely positive. Here are some notable points raised in the report that highlight the benefits of our unique combination of breadth and depth of expertise and our wide reach across many sectors:
- Over a quarter of the introductions that KTN made were new cross-sector b2b connections
- 90% of the collaborations facilitated by KTN are expected to lead to the progression of commercial opportunity
- In 2017/18 KTN held 417 events with over 28,000 delegates registered
- Businesses reported a total of more than £100m per year increased investment in R&D as a direct result of engagement with KTN
Our CEO Chris Warkup states “Innovation is core to what we do, but also to the way that we work – we need to keep experimenting and testing new ways of connecting people to create ideas and deliver new products processes and services. A number of our own innovations are described within this report, and we are accelerating our ability to invent and innovate in our networking activity.”
“We are accelerating our ability to invent and innovate in our networking activity.” Chris Warkup, CEO, Knowledge Transfer Network
KTN’s Chairman, David Lawrence, looks to the future and highlights “our ambition to ensure that our approach will be truly innovative, that we will have a peerless understanding of the UK innovation landscape, and that we will be viewed as an honest and trustworthy broker by the organisations and communities we serve. The plans to grow our activity in line with our ambition are progressing well, and I am confident we will realise the ambition of being known as the world’s best innovation network.”
