MTSC Challenge Accelerator & Cohort One Showcase

The MedTech SuperConnector (MTSC) Challenge Accelerator starts February 2019 on the theme of Mental Health, Wellbeing & Happiness. Apply by 20th Jan.

The MedTech SuperConnector (MTSC) is an open experiment in acceleration, bringing together talented early career researchers (ECRs), academic discoveries and pooled know-how from 8 academic to determine the most effective methods for translation of MedTech discoveries into clinical practice and consumer use.

The MTSC Challenge Accelerator winning teams get six months of support, training, access to resources and funding of up to £60k per team to build a novel solution tackling mental health and promoting wellbeing & happiness.

The six-month ‘MTSC Challenge Accelerator’ programme will give participants the opportunity to work within and build a multi-disciplinary team to fast-track the development of early stage MedTech concepts and technologies. Applicants will be invited to take part in a collaborative 2 day ‘Innovation Lab’ hackathon forming teams to develop novel solutions tackling mental health and promoting wellbeing & happiness. At the end of the hackathon each team will have the opportunity to pitch their idea to a panel of judges & a live audience to win a place on the 6-month accelerator programme.

This programme is open to research fellows, postdocs, PhD candidates & masters students from the MTSC’s partner institutions. The closing date for applications is 20th January at 11.59pm.

The Cohort One Showcase will be taking place on the afternoon of Thursday 28th February at The Francis Crick Institute. Here you’ll be able to hear from Cohort One and learn more about their cutting-edge MedTech Innovations and how the MTSC has helped shape their ventures. This will be accompanied by a programme update, keynote addresses and a panel Q&A.
