KTN’s Medicines Manufacturing Challenge Community event has been moved to 24th-25th September, still taking place in Glasgow.

Registration is now open for our Medicines Manufacturing Challenge Community event which has been moved to Thursday 24th РFriday 25th September in Glasgow: Revolutionising future medicines development, manufacturing and supply through collaboration.

This Medicines Manufacturing Challenge Community event in Glasgow, delivered by Knowledge Transfer Network, is an opportunity to learn more about the latest projects, research and infrastructure developments that have been funded to accelerate the development and manufacture of vital advanced therapies, medicines and vaccines.

Research, technology and innovation drive the development, manufacture and supply of medicines. Embedding digitalisation strategies and improved process and analytical technologies are two areas which will underpin the future of the industry in terms of accelerating development of new medicines, cost reduction, achieving quality whilst assuring robust supply. UKRI invest in the medicines manufacturing infrastructure ecosystem, through the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund alongside EPSRC Future Manufacturing Research Hubs.  Hosted by the Medicines Manufacturing Innovation Centre partners, and in partnership with the EPSRC Future Manufacturing Research Hubs, the event objectives are to enable dissemination of the latest results and innovations arising from ISCF and UKRI funded projects, and to enable this medicines manufacturing community to explore further opportunities for collaboration through networking across academia and industry. The agenda will be a mix of presentations, networking, breakout sessions and digital and poster sessions.

During day 1, delegates will hear from the Medicines Manufacturing Innovation Centre, and other investments centred on enhancing current UK capabilities in medicines manufacturing innovation in the UK. The agenda also includes posters, short talks from ISCF funded projects. Future opportunities for innovation support across UKRI and ISCF will also be presented.

Over the second day, we will showcase UK excellence in research across four of the EPSRC funded Hubs in the area of medicines manufacturing namely, CMAC, FTHMH, and both the Vax-Hub and Future Vaccine Manufacturing Hub. Across both days there will be networking, posters interactive demos and break-out sessions across the themes focussing on the topics that are shaping current and future strategies, such as digitalisation, analytical, AI and synthetic biology.

There will be an opportunity to participate in a site tour of research facilities at CMAC.

Throughout the event representatives of UKRI and the Knowledge Transfer Network will be available to support companies wanting to discuss their latest innovations. There will be networking time throughout the day as well as bookable 1-2-1 partnering meetings.

This meeting is free to attend, and full agenda will be published soon.
