Speakers announced for the EUREKA Global Innovation Summit

EGIS 2019, taking place in Manchester from 14-16th May, will feature 180 speakers who are leading innovation in industry and government

At the Summit speakers from across the globe, and a number of industries will be providing their insight into the direction of technology, the future of sustainable growth, how to collaborate globally and much more. There will be several sessions particularly focused on advancements in AI & Data, healthy ageing, the future of mobility, and clean growth. Jean-David Malo, Director of Open Innovation & Open Science, The European Commission

In February 2017, Jean-David Malo was appointed as Director of the Directorate in charge of ‘Open Innovation and Open Science’. Jean-David will be speaking about future disruptors and what creative change and resultant resistance mean for your business and the global economy.

Beverley Gower-Jones, Chief Executive, Carbon Limiting Technologies, UK

Beverley specialises in early stage, cleantech commercialisation. Beverley will help you get inside the minds of potential investors and provide insight into the future of investment.

John Laughlin, Chief Technology Officer, NGen Canada

John is the CTO of Next Generation Manufacturing Canada. He has an extensive background in the Automotive and Transport sectors. John will be discussing the future of manufacturing, sustainable growth and who you should be collaborating with globally.

Priya Guha, Venture Partner, Merian Ventures, UK

Priya is a Venture Partner at Merian Ventures and a Member of the Innovate UK Council. She was previously Ecosystem GM for San Francisco HQ-ed RocketSpace, launching their UK operations. Priya will be part of a panel session discussing the incredible initiatives being used to drive innovation through diversity.

Bosun Tijani, Chief Executive, Co-Creation Hub Nigeria (CcHUB)

Bosun Tijani is the founder and Chief Executive of Co-creation Hub Nigeria (CcHUB). CcHUB which stands at the forefront of the fastest moving technology industry trends has maintained its focus on shaping the economy and the future of Africa while positioning start-ups to be the anchor of the continent’s tech ecosystem. Bosun will be advising on how you can collaborate with partners in Africa and how businesses can best access this market.

Gillian Docherty, Chief Executive, The Data Lab, UK

Gillian Docherty is chief executive of The Data Lab, an innovation centre with a mission of maximising the value for Scotland from data. Gillian will be talking about the impact of AI and Data on your business and futureproofing; ‘IoT, 5G and AI vs the human’.

Dr Andrea Graham, Head of Policy Services, National Farmers’ Union (NFU)

As Head of the NFU’s Policy Services Department since 2014, Andrea now leads the NFU’s national cross-sector policy work on behalf of their members. Andrea will be speaking about international approaches amd global partnerships supporting precision agriculture in the face of future challenges.

Dr Mike Short, Chief Scientific Advisor, Department for International Trade (DIT)

Dr Mike Short CBE, after 30 years in telecommunications with Telefonica, joined the Department for International Trade as the department’s first chief scientific adviser in December 2017. Mike will be talking about his experience and providing advice on profitable global collaboration alongside invaluable economic forecasting.
