EPSRC to host a materials science community workshop in March.

On 26th March 2019, the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) will be hosting a community workshop titled ‘Towards Sustainable Materials for Energy Applications’. This interdisciplinary workshop brings together industry and academia to promote challenge-driven design and create a networking opportunity which can address future challenges in energy materials. The workshop will focus on industrial energy targets and facilitate identification of sustainable materials challenges to promote collaborations.

Applications are particularly welcomed from researchers in the following areas: Functional Ceramics and Inorganics; Graphene and Carbon Nanotechnology; Magnetic Materials; Polymer Materials; and Photonic Materials.

To attend the workshop, it is first necessary to complete the Expression of Interest (EOI), which is used to understand the participant’s research interests. This includes: a statement on challenges in tackling sustainable energy materials; defining your research interests and how research can contribute to addressing the challenges of sustainable materials; a list of current industrial collaborators in the energy sector. The closing date for applications is set for 28th February at 16:00.
