NHS Innovation Accelerator Call for Applicants – 2021 cohort
Applications for this Call must address at least one of the following themes: NHS response to COVID-19; Mental health; Supporting the workforce. The NIA particularly welcomes female applicants and applicants from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities, as they are currently underrepresented amongst our Fellows.
The support offer includes access to mentorship from a range of experts and high-profile mentors, links with AHSNs, peer-to-peer learning and support, a dedicated learning programme, presentation and networking opportunities, and access to a bursary.
The next call for NHS Innovation Accelerator (NIA) Fellows launches on 1 September 2020, closing at 23:59 on 16 October 2020.
The 2021 recruitment Call has aligned with the current NHS priorities of COVID-19 Reset and Recovery. As such, applications for this Call must address at least one of the following themes:
- NHS response to COVID-19
- Mental health
- Supporting the workforce

Who can apply to join the NIA?
You can be the inventor of your innovation, the lead for it within your organisation or simply the representative of an innovation you find compelling, and as such, wish to scale it across the NHS.
Applicants, nationally and internationally, can be clinicians; academics; from a public-sector, charitable or not-for-profit organisation; from a small or medium-sized enterprise (SME); from a large corporate.
