Chiara Bassetti: Project Manager – KTN Global Alliance Africa

I am a qualified Project Manager with 10 years experience managing development and humanitarian programmes in a range of countries including Kenya, Nepal, Mexico, Argentina, the UK, the USA, Philippines and Indonesia. I have a Masters in Education and International Development from UCL, achieved Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) as part of the Teach First leadership development programme, am Project Management for Development Professionals (Project DPro) qualified and am Humanitarian Operations Programme (HOP) and Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) certified. I also speak fluent English, Spanish, French and Italian with intermediate Arabic and basic Kiswahili.

In my current role I am the Project Manager for the KTN Global Alliance Africa project. In my previous role I was a Learning and Development Consultant for the INGO Plan International, building organisational capacity and capability on Humanitarian Response and oraganisation-wide project management standards, training and procedures across Plan’s 55 country offices. Prior to that I specialised in EdTech for development as part of a DFID-funded Girls Education Challenge (GEC) project called iMlango, transforming the learning experience of 800,000 children for some of Kenya’s most rural and marginalised communities. I also have a background in Education for Development and have worked on a range of development projects in Nepal, Kenya, Argentina, Mexico and the UK either as a consultant or project manager.
