Knowledge Transfer Adviser
Gerry is the Knowledge Transfer Adviser for West Scotland.
The Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) support businesses to engage with expert academic teams on a project-based collaboration delivering sustainable innovation with positive economic impact and additional societal or environmental benefits. Gerry looks after businesses supporting their projects with knowledge bases in many parts of the country. Gerry also maintains relationships with a number of designated universities in relation to their participation in the programme.
Gerry joined the KTN in 2017 bringing many years of experience as a Senior KTP Adviser. He has a BSc in Chemistry and a PhD in Organic Chemistry. His early career was in the Civil Service, and in Management and Tax Consultancy followed by a move to live in Scotland where he has founded and grown businesses. He was appointed as a KTP Adviser in 2002 and has helped over 300 companies tackle strategic and innovative projects, in 2006 he became a Senior KTP Adviser bringing real enthusiasm for Open Innovation projects in collaboration with the Knowledge Base.
