Matthews main responsibilities are to be a point of contact for innovators in the maritime sector and to help companies find the appropriate mechanism to take their ideas from the drawing board to tangible outcomes.

Matthew works with a range of stakeholders from academia, SMEs, NGOs, large industries to Governmental departments all with the common goal to drive the maritime sector forward.

Matthew works with companies that have technologies or services that can be directly or indirectly applied to the maritime industry. This does not necessarily have to focus on ships or boats themselves but could also include landside infrastructure or underwater vessels.

Matthew can help companies identify skills or capability gaps in their projects and connect them to the right people to fill those gaps. Likewise, for academic partners I can connect them to suitable businesses to help take their ideas forward.

For all parties Matthew can recommended the best funding option in order to help their ideas succeed and provide support throughout the application process.

Aside from the maritime sector Matthew is working with the manufacturing team at KTN on a project around remanufacturing and how it can play a role in the circular economy and building a more resilient nation.
