Head of Campaigns

Purpose of the role

The role is responsible for KTN Reach and Engagement Client Campaigns, specifically covering marketing, events and online.

The role is responsible for leading the team to deliver local, national and international events and marketing campaigns on the KTN Programmes of work we deliver in partnership with Innovate UK and other high-profile clients.

These will include KTN Global Alliance, Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund Activity, Agri-Food Africa, Quantum activity, Medicine Manufacturing, Design and Innovation, Cyber-security and many others.

This role has significant responsibility as there may be up to thirty campaigns running with various client groups in parallel at any time. The role is responsible for working with the programme leads and the marketing and events teams to ensure the work aligns with the overall objectives of KTN.

As a senior leader of the Reach and Engagement Directorate, the role will collaborate with colleagues to ensure branding, messaging and identity across KTN Campaigns is consistently high quality.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Collaborate to design and deliver the KTN’s campaigns strategy aligned to our world-changing vision and five-year strategy.
  • Lead a team responsible for the development and delivery of marketing and events campaigns in support of KTN’s objectives and the objectives of specific contracts and grants.
  • Ensure that there is consistently high quality of output across KTN campaigns.
  • Take an active leadership role, developing influential working relationships internally throughout across KTN and also externally with key clients and strategic partners.
  • Input to the creative concepts for specific programmes and events, maintaining an overview of how these programmes and events influence priorities highlighted in the Strategy.
  • Gather insights from campaigns and ensure that these are used to improve future marketing and events.
  • Motivate, lead and coach a team of events and communications professionals, ensuring that they communicate effectively across teams, amplifying our reach and engagement activity.

Requirements

  • Experience of leading and developing a strategic plan to include budgeting responsibilities.
  • Senior level experience of leading multi-channel – including events – communications campaigns, locally and nationally and globally.
  • Experience in producing portfolios of Academic, Business or Consumer events and marketing.
  • Experience of leading the delivery of integrated, compelling and creative marketing, PR and live experience campaigns.
  • Experience of strong cost management and forecasting.
