Project Manager - Equality, Diversity & Inclusion (12 Month Contract)

Purpose of the role:

KTN is committed to ED&I both through our People Strategy and through the projects and programmes we deliver for and with our clients and partners.

KTN will work with strategic partners and clients on taking collective action to ensure that innovation is driven from a more diverse base that supports better innovation outcomes and helps the UK become a leading nation in diversity and inclusion nationally and globally.

This role will involve managing a range of internal and external ED&I focused activities. This will include the high-profile Innovate UK programmes “Women in Innovation” and “Young Innovators”, which are delivering high-quality support to over 100 individual award winners as well as the 6500+ Women in Innovation and 1800+ Young Innovators communities.

The role will work closely with the Knowledge Transfer Manager – Diversity & Inclusion. Furthermore, the role will work closely with KTN’s Executive on the development of KTN’s ED&I Strategy.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manage selected client ED&I focused projects including budget, risk, resourcing and reporting.
  • Planning and designing projects and proactively monitoring progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action
  • Management of project work packages or delivery of specific project tasks, including supporting delivery of projects managed by another project lead;
  • Co-ordination of new capability for the business to enable effective change and realisation of benefits.
  • Ensuring there is allocation of resources and skills across the programme’s individual projects
  • Maintaining oversight of budgets, monitoring expenditure and costs against benefits as the programme is delivered
  • Managing communications with all stakeholders
  • Support development, tracking and implementation of KTN’s ED&I Strategy
  • Ensure programme and project goals are identified – and met – in areas including client satisfaction, quality, and team member performance
  • Develop new projects and programmes to support the strategic direction of the organisation, including potential support to writing funding proposals to deliver ED&I programmes for new and/or existing clients



  • Demonstrable experience of delivering projects or programmes to challenging timeframes in a multi-party environment
  • Demonstrable financial and budget responsibility for projects and programmes


  • ED&I and/or innovation programme experience
  • Managing remote programme delivery teams
  • Understanding of public funding programmes and/or private finance


  • Excellent time management, facilitation and organisational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate confidently and build effective relationships
  • Team player with excellent relationship building and influencing skills; enjoys working in a collaborative manner in an open, honest, and diverse environment
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and persuasively across multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders, explaining complicated matters simply
  • High level of IT literacy
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Exemplary attention to detail

  • This role has a salary up to £40,000 pa dependent on experience
