Canada and the UK have strong collaborative links in research and innovation (R&I); bilateral funding programmes exist between Innovate UK and NRC Canada in key sectors, and previous missions have successfully covered Advanced Manufacturing, Agri-tech, Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Technology.

Canada is investing heavily in advanced therapies making considerable investments in research and commercialisation through government funding programmes and centres such as the Centre for Commercialization of Regenerative Medicine (CCRM).
In this context, in February 2020, a Global Expert Mission took place to Canada (Toronto and Vancouver) to better understand the country’s R&I landscapes and to establish potential opportunities for collaboration in the advanced therapies sector. This webinar will present the findings and insights from the mission and collaborations that have happened since.
Participants can pose questions to the panel of UK and Canadian leaders in the AT sector. The Panel will provide a holistic and wide viewpoint of the capabilities identified during the Mission and will showcase key opportunities for UK and Canadian businesses who may be interested in international collaboration.

To help UK businesses become truly global enterprises through strategic collaboration, Innovate UK launched its Global Expert Missions in October 2017. Delivered by the KTN, the Missions provide an expert-led evidence base to strengthen Innovate UK’s global investment strategy: how and where it should invest to create UK business opportunities in partnerships with key economies.
