Angel Investing, why don’t more women do it?

The UK Business Angels Association (UKBAA) and Angel Academe are conducting some research into the barriers women face in becoming angel investors. While we have large numbers of women contributing to our economy as entrepreneurs and in very senior roles in business and government, currently only a small proportion of them are using their financial capacity and expertise to invest in small businesses. This research looks to understand why by exploring women’s perceptions of angel investing.

The research is aimed at women only (although men can help by sharing the link), both those with experience of angel investing as well as non-investors. It consists of a short online survey to provide the quantitative data needed as well as some telephone interviews and focus groups to provide qualitative insights.
