About OSIRT
Online investigations can require disparate tools that vary in price and quality, this, mixed with often varied skillsets of cyber operators, can lead to issues surrounding the capture of online artefacts. A lack of standardisation and rigour for online investigations risks case integrity.
OSIRT is a unique, comprehensive toolset with built-in tools for complete artefact capture which include: screenshots, video and complete webpage downloads; automatic logging of actions with time and date stamp in the OSIRT case file; plus export options for reports. These capabilities make OSIRT a robust and standardised approach to online investigations for everyone.
Since 2015, OSIRT has had over 50,000 downloads as a free tool. OSIRT is now looking to migrate to a ‘freemium’ model with paid-for support packages and additional tools.
The OSIRT team
Designed with direct feedback from frontline law enforcement, and trained at the College of Policing, OSIRT was invented by Joseph Williams, Senior Lecturer in Computer Science at the University of Hertfordshire.

CyberASAP 2022/23
Funding for CyberASAP 2022/23 has just been confirmed for UK academic teams with a cyber security idea they would like to commercialise. The funding competition opens on Monday 7th February 2022 and closes at 11am on Wednesday 2nd March. Apply here.
