As part of its Industrial Strategy, the Government has announced a major funding opportunity for the UK’s creative industries, with the potential for a ¬£33m challenge fund, “Audience of the Future”, looking at how UK businesses and researchers can develop new VR/AR products, services and experiences that will capture the world‚Äôs attention and position the UK as the global leader in immersive technologies.
The business case for the challenge fund is currently being finalised, with the expectation for funding to become available in Spring 2018. As part of this, a programme of workshops, organised by KTN / Immerse UK on behalf of Innovate UK and the Research Councils, presents an opportunity for to learn more about the proposed Audience of the Future programme, and the chance to meet other businesses and researchers working in this area.
The feedback gathered from these events will directly inform the business case and scope of the funding.
