The Isle of Wight’s environmental and sustainability expo for the business community has been postponed

PRESS STATEMENT FROM THE TEAM AT SMART ISLAND LIVE

In light of recent developments around containing the spread of Coronavirus, it has been decided to postpone Smart Island Live to later this year. The event will not now take place on May 28th.

We would like to assure all delegates, exhibitors and sponsors that the event will take place later this year, and that we are working with our host venue, Cecamm, on the most suitable new date. An announcement on this will be made very shortly.

Smart island Live founder, Vince Wedlock-Ward comments: “We know this is disappointing news, but our first responsibility is to deliver a safe and enjoyable event. This is best achieved by rescheduling for later in the year. We are grateful that our excellent guest speakers are all planning to join us for our new date.  We are also looking to use the time now to add in some extra items to the event programme.”

Smart Island Live 2020 will build on the success of last year’s inaugural event where representatives from nearly 150 businesses attended to hear about the smarter use of technology in transport, food, water, waste and energy savings.

Looking forward to this year’s event, Smart Island Live founder, Vince Wedlock-Ward commented: “We had fantastic feedback from those who attended last year, taking inspiration on ways to make their businesses more sustainable and cost-efficient in environmentally-friendly ways. We have plenty of ideas to build on that success this year.“

The event will take place at CECAMM and Managing Director, Richard White, is delighted with the association with Smart Island Live 2020: “We see this event as connecting perfectly with the aims around CECAMM, opening up opportunities for students, promoting careers and partnerships in the technology and sustainable sectors. Doing business in smarter ways.”
