Global Expert Missions creating global growth opportunities for UK innovation.
The Global Expert Missions (GEM) programme is funded by Innovate UK to support the Industrial Strategy’s ambition for the UK to be the international partner of choice for science and innovation. Led by KTN, GEMs play an important role in building strategic partnerships, providing deep insight into the opportunities for UK innovation and shaping future bilateral collaboration programmes.
Global collaborations are crucial in meeting the Industrial Strategy’s Grand Challenges and is further supported by the International Research and Innovation Strategy.
Through its inward, outward, and virtual missions, the programme has objectives to:
- Building International Collaboration
Establish expert insights and objective evidence to inform and enhance the UK’s innovation partnerships with key global economies.
- Informing UK businesses and Government
Disseminate expert-based insights to maximise knowledge of UK businesses and identify strategic actions to facilitate Government initiative to exploit new opportunities.
- Showcasing UK Capabilities
Promote the UK’s technological and business strengths to be the “Partner of Choice” in future innovation partnerships with strategic global economies.
Global Expert Mission Dissemination Activities
KTN delivers dissemination events for each Global Expert Mission to highlight key findings and provide a holistic and wide viewpoint of the technological capabilities within these sectors and countries. We have published reports from each Global Expert Mission where we share the information and insights gathered during the delegation’s time in each country.
