By helping connect organisations and people across all sectors, we help shape the future and build a better and stronger innovation system.

Our current focus in this area

5G

5G is more than just another upgrade in the mobile telecoms landscape. 5G promises to become the underpinning for the entire global digital economy, capable of generating trillions of pounds of value.

AI for Services

Services – including legal, accounting and insurance – account for almost 80% of the UK economy. Financial and professional services alone are worth £190 billion and employ 2.2 million, so it is vital that we ensure these are primed for the future.

Computing

Computing helps produce digital assets and software activity. These can be used by varied sectors such as transport, infrastructure, farming and life sciences.

CyberASAP

The only pre-seed accelerator programme in the cyber security ecosystem, CyberASAP (Cyber Security Academic Startup Accelerator Programme) provides expertise, knowledge and support to convert academic ideas into commercial products in the cyber security space.

Cyber Security

The National Cyber Security Centre’s (NCSC) definition of cyber security’s core function is to protect the devices we all use, and the services we access from theft or damage and preventing unauthorised access to personal information we store on these devices, and online.

Digital Economy

The Digital Economy covers all business activity that’s enabled by digital technologies. This includes a wide range of activity across any sectors.

Digital Health & Care

The digital health and care sub-sector is characterised by a large number of small companies developing technology across the health spectrum.

Digital Manufacturing

Digital manufacturing promises improved productivity, sustainability, resilience and the creation of high value jobs. The industrial digital technology (IDT) innovator seeking to make an impact in the physical world stands to benefit from the transformation of UK manufacturing.

Electromagnetic Spectrum

What makes our modern lives relatively easy, interconnected and seamless is this seldomly thought of but very vital soft infrastructure – the electromagnetic spectrum. The digital world on which we have come to rely (Wi-Fi, Internet of Things, radio broadcasts to name a few) is underpinned by this invisible finite resource, but it lacks resilience and is rapidly becoming the widest open door for anyone who wants to disrupt critical services.

Immerse UK

Immerse UK brings together industry, researchers and research organisations, the public sector, entrepreneurs, innovators and end-users to support the UK in becoming the global leader in applications of immersive technologies: high-end visualisation, virtual, mixed, and augmented reality, haptics and other sensory interfaces with data.

Internet of Things

IoT (Internet of Things) is all things data. It includes generating, catching, moving, processing data for insights/actions in increasingly automated and connected contexts. These technologies can unlock powerful business capabilities. IoT technology is often behind the words ‘smart’ or ‘digitisation’. It’s present in any and all sectors that use data associated with non-human assets (things).

Funding Opportunities

The ScaleUp Accelerator

The ScaleUp Accelerator helps scaling tech (often B2B SaaS) UK companies prepare for strong growth and Series A funding. Supports UK based tech companies who are currently at £500k to £1.5m net revenue and growing.
